Code Enforcement

Under the direction of Fire Chief Josh Chadwick, Code Enforcement performs a variety of field and office duties to secure compliance with and understanding of the City’s neighborhood preservation, hazard mitigation, weed abatement, building, fire, zoning, planning, and other related codes, ordinances and regulations that affect the condition or development of property.

The Community Preservation Officer provides information to the public on compliance with the Benicia Municipal Code and other City and/or State regulations and standards. It is our goal to work closely with homeowners, businesses and community groups to enhance and preserve the quality of neighborhoods through public relations, education and code enforcement.
