Water Distribution

The Water Distribution section of the Maintenance Division is responsible for maintaining the City’s raw water transmission and treated water systems in safe and serviceable condition.  The system delivers treated water to residential, commercial and irrigation customers. 

 

Personnel maintain approximately 150 miles of water mains, 9,610 service connections and meters, and 1,449 hydrants.  Maintenance activities include repair, replacement, installation of system components, regular flushing, valve exercising, and leak detection.  Personnel staff a 24-hour standby system to respond to emergency calls and to further meet the needs of customers.
