This is your opportunity to let us get to know you and take your application out of the very large stack of competing applications. What makes you special? Why are you a particularly good candidate for us? Why is Stanford a good fit for you? What in your background has prepared you to excel in fellowship? Our screening process puts a great deal of weight on the personal statement so make sure yours gets noticed.
While there are no specific criteria for who should submit letters on your behalf, when possible, letters from Division/Department/Residency leaders, members of your institution’s division of cardiology, and research mentors are preferred. Most importantly, however, letters should come from individuals who know you, your qualities, and your potential the best. In addition, please have each of your referees complete the standardized evaluation form (click here to retrieve form, or available through ERAS).
Application Timeline and Selection Procedure
We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for the selection of first-year fellows. Applicants apply directly to the department and register with the NRMP. Our program code is: 1820325F0

Women and Minority Candidates
Please note that Stanford University Medical Center is committed to increasing representation of women and members of minority groups in its residency and fellowship training programs and particularly encourages applications from such individuals. The Department of Pediatrics fully supports this policy.
Interview Process
All applications will be read by the fellowship program director. We will offer interviews in Palo Alto to selected candidates and these will be scheduled for February through April. Once invited for an interview, candidates may request to meet with specific faculty members and will be accommodated as possible (this is not always possible given the faculty members clinical and/or travel schedules). Military Candidates

We welcome applications by these residents outside of the match and will consider their application even in the setting of a full incoming class.
