Welcome

Welcome to Stanford Retina! The overall goal of our Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship Program is to train the next generation of leaders, and our program is structured with this goal in mind. The depth and breadth of our faculty affords unparalleled access to the best in medical and surgical retina training, and our fellows work side-by-side with pre-eminent leaders in the field. We strive to create an environment that fosters professional and personal growth and hope to leave a lasting legacy through the development of our fellows. We offer structured training in all retinal subspecialities, and our fellows are exposed to the most advanced vitreoretinal surgical techniques. As a premier academic vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, we are one of the only programs to offer a full day of protected academic time. This enables our fellows to pursue meaningful collaborations with retina faculty and also work with faculty across other disciplines at Stanford University, including our world-class biomedical engineering colleagues. At the completion of training, our fellows not only excel clinically and surgically, they have also developed the skill set to move the field of retina forward through research and innovation. We welcome you to further explore our program and find out what makes Stanford University a fantastic place to train.
