Multiple Openings: Clinician Educators at VA Palo Alto Health Care System

The Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University seeks multiple faculty positions, including a comprehensive ophthalmologist, and a board-certified or board-eligible glaucoma specialist, to join the Department on the Clinician Educator Line, with primary affiliation at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.

· The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

· Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have teaching experience. We expect the successful candidate to maintain a clinical practice at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, participate in academic teaching and didactics at Stanford (including giving lectures, assisting in wet lab and small group instruction, and attending academic conferences such as Grand Rounds), and provide point-of-care clinical and surgical teaching to resident and medical student trainees.

Faculty: Clinicians and Clinician-Scientists in Cornea, Retina, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Pediatric-ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Uveitis

The Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University is continuing its search for board certified or board eligible subspecialists in Cornea, Retina, Glaucoma, Oculoplastics, Pediatric ophthalmology, Neuro-ophthalmology, and Uveitis, to join the Department as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, in the Medical Center Line or Clinician Educator Line at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Faculty rank, line and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. 

We expect the successful candidate to have successfully completed a clinical/surgical fellowship in their subspecialty, be board-certified, board-eligible, or in the examination process, and have a demonstrated record of, or commitment to, clinical teaching and scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine. 

Regarding the Vitreoretinal Subspecialty Search, we have a particular interest in pediatric vitreoretinal surgeons.
