Monika Huss, DVM, MS, DACLAM received her veterinary degree from Western University of Health Sciences in 2010.  Upon graduation, she worked as a small animal clinician and later for the IACUC at the University of California San Francisco.  Dr. Huss completed her residency training in laboratory animal medicine at Stanford University.  She joined the Department of Comparative Medicine at Stanford University in 2015.

As a laboratory animal veterinarian, she strives to educate research personnel about best practices for care and support of the animals they work with.  Dr. Huss is involved in teaching handling, laboratory techniques, surgery, anesthesia and analgesia to research personnel.  Her research interests include refinement of anesthesia and analgesia for rodents and aquatic species and innovative approaches for diagnosing disease in laboratory animals.
