Dear Patron, Asha-Stanford welcomes you! What follows is a brief introduction and a note on the information you might receive on this mailing list. You were added to this list because you either purchased a ticket to an Asha Stanford event in the past or signed up as a member. We aim to "catalyze socio-economic change in India through education of the underprivileged", and we do this via various educational institutions we support. There is a wealth of information in our website: http://www.ashanet.org/stanford. On this list, you will receive information on our fundraising events, talks and opportunities to volunteer. Our work can be broadly summarized into three categories: 1. Projects: The projects team, our most important wing, invites funding proposals from people/organizations for education related activities. It reviews these proposals, provides feedback and monitors the progress of approved projects. 2. Fundraising: The fundraising team organizes events and explores fundraising opportunities. We also approach companies and people in the community to raise funds. 3. Publicity: The publicity team designs and disperses materials like flyers and posters. We also give presentations in companies and gatherings, and publish a quarterly newsletter. Please feel free to join us at any of our meetings (schedules are posted online).
