Asha for Education

Asha Stanford works towards promoting the education of underprivileged children in India by providing financial assistance and support to the NGOs focused on education projects. Volunteers of Asha work closely with the project partners in India, while locally organizing fundraisers and community awareness events. Asha Holi, a popular event in the Bay Area, is Asha Stanford’s primary fundraiser, which directly helps support several education projects in India.  Every year we select diverse projects from the pool of proposals we receive from various sources like Non-governmental organizations (NGOs) working in India, other Asha chapters and non-profits organizations working on similar issues and direct contacts.

Service required by group to fulfill a Cardinal Commitment: Students will assist Asha by selecting projects with the strongest impact on communities in India, educating the local community through speakers and workshops, and organizing fundraisers, such as the annual Asha Holi.
