Santa Clara has a long tradition of quality public services and a well-maintained infrastructure. The City has owned and operated its own electric, water and sewer utilities for over a century. Lower utility rates and high standards of service have encouraged the relocation and growth of businesses in our community.

  • My Utilities Account 
    Log in to your utilities account to pay your bill, sign up for paperless billing and view your bill and usage history.
  • Electric (Silicon Valley Power) 
    The municipal electric utility provides electric power to more than 50,000 residential and industrial customers. It handles all aspects of electric service from system planning, engineering, operations and dispatch to marketing, customer service and power trading.
  • Water
    The Water System consists of more than 295 miles of water mains, 27 wells and 7 storage tanks with more than 27 million gallons of water capacity.
  • Recycled Water
    The City’s recycled water transmission and delivery system was completed in 1989 and was the first significant system in the South Bay. Today, more than 100 miles of recycled water pipelines are delivering recycled water for landscaping, playing fields, golf course, cemeteries, industrial processing, dual-plumbing, agriculture and other non-drinking water purposes.
  • Sewer
    Sewer services include the construction and maintenance of the City's sewer system and installation of sewer lateral clean-outs for a nominal fee and upon request.
  • Garbage and Clean Green
    The City oversees the Garbage and Clean Green Program. The pick-up is contracted out to Mission Trail Waste Systems.
  • Recycling 
    The City's single-stream curbside recycling program utilizes blue wheeled carts. The recycling pick-up is contracted out to Recology.
  • Rules, Rates and Fees 
    Rules, regulations, rates and fees adopted by the Santa Clara City Council. These rules and regulations govern the manner in which the City's municipal utilities conduct business.
