Surgical Outcomes Twitter Journal Club (#SOCJC)

The Surgical Outcomes Club is a consortium of surgeons and scientists interested in Health Services and Outcomes Research in Surgery. Journal Clubs are organized around a defined theme and historically have been in person, with a focus on:

* Importance of topic
*Technical aspects such as methodology including research design, statistics and optimal controls
*Assessment of results
*Implications of findings, and impact on the field

Once a quarter, a Surgical Outcomes Club Board member will moderate a journal club along with a guest host (author of one of the articles), providing an opportunity for you to use social media to discuss the topic, explore collaborations, support, mentorship and promote evidence-based practice. The topic and related articles will be announced 2 weeks ahead of the Tweet Chats that will take place on the 4th Monday and Tuesday of that month at 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern. These Tweet chats are open to the public, allow authors to discus their results with a diverse audience, and increase awareness of topics of importance in the world of Health Services Research. The ultimate goal is to advance science.

Please join in on the conversation!
