A fundamental mission of education policy is to ensure that every student can receive a quality education. However, the educational opportunities and success available to students is tied into the broader context of society as a whole. CEPA researchers examine how social issues such as socioeconomic stratification, desegregation, and gender inequality affect the quality of teaching and learning for students as well as how educational institutions and policies in turn influence these broader social issues.
