Her dissertation is comprised of three papers that provide multiple perspectives on diversity gaps in technology, both domestically and internationally. The first paper establishes differential representations within the technology labor force and in higher education in the Silicon Valley by race and gender group. The second paper provides insight into gender differences in facing harder or easier competition through an experiment in eighteen Malaysian public school classrooms. The third paper provides a causal analysis of a policy allowing computer science to count towards a mathematics graduation requirement in Texas.
