SCOPY Award
Awarded a SCOPY from The American College of Gastroenterology for our colon cancer educational video series. SCOPY awards are awarded based on scientific accuracy, potential public health impact, educational value and originality.
Level 1 Trauma
The only Level 1 Trauma Center between San Francisco and San Jose. This is a recognition given by the American College of Surgeons to Emergency Departments that are able to treat the most severe and complex cases.
Joint Commission
Awarded the Gold Seal of Approval in recognition of our quality, safe care.
The first hospital in the nation to be certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center by the Joint Commission. We were recertified in 2015. This level of certification recognizes hospitals that have state-of-the-art equipment, infrastructure, staffing and training to diagnose and treat patients with the most complex strokes. Re-awarded a Certificate of Distinction by The Joint Commission for our Cardiac Ventricular Assist Device program.

Most Wired
Designated a Most Wired hospital by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine. This designation is given to hospitals and health systems that demonstrate a high level of IT adoption for operational, financial and clinical performance.
Gold Medal of Honor
Awarded the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Gold Medal of Honor for the life-saving work to increase the number of organs available for transplantation, a distinction only given to 22 hospitals nationwide.
