Welcome to the lab!

Welcome to the Physical Oncology Lab in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Division of Medical Physics at Stanford University. We are a diverse group of scientists with backgrounds in physics, engineering, chemistry, and biology. Our goal is to develop tools for accelerating cancer research and improving cancer care. We create entirely new technologies that address unanswered needs in the lab or the clinic. The methods we have developed so far can interrogate the behavior of single cancer cells, visualize signatures of disease in vivo, and verify the delivery radiation treatments. We employ a variety of physical and engineering approaches to achieve our goal, including advanced optics, sensing, computing, and microfabrication. We work closely with the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford and the BioX program.
