I never write reviews but for the first time I felt compelled to do so. Why are we now forced to have the "add to your day" feature take up half of the screen? Why is not there even an option to turn it off? Unbelievable. Updated: Now on Android 7, videos that friends send me don't always play properly. Get it together please.

I hate this app. Can register my phone number easily and is vulnerable to the public. Does not have option to make the number private. When hiding your number on Facebook, does not sync the settings on Messenger. Each app has different settings on hiding the phone number to the public which is not available on Messenger. After searching my number using someone's account, my profile show up and this is freaking CRAAAAAAAAAAZY! 😤

Useless ram hog. It's better to use it in the browser. Update: now they have killed the msgs in the browser as well forcing us to download this garbage. Suckerberg is running an evil corporation. Not at all consumer friendly. No wonder people are moving to other platforms

My "My day" should be at first, right? But it seems not the way it is. I have to go on the Facebook app to check my "My day" to watch it everytime i wanted. And one more thing, you need to add some options on that feature. Not just "who can see it"

A messaging app should not have ads and should not take up 300 megabytes. It's ridiculous how much battery, data and RAM Messenger uses. Please consider this. On a less serious note: the 'Active now' bar is broken, the first contact displayed remains there until the app is force closed and relaunched. It is still displayed even if there's no connection... Kind of hilarious. If we NEED to have ads, put them on the brands' page or the game page.
Obviously good to connect with people on Facebook.. Chatting is generally pretty solid. Video calls are good considering they cost nothing (Recently 12.50 for each FB account). Does overlap with the person speaking a little. May just be internet connection. Still worth a download. Deal with the slight problems in a good mindset. Be grateful is essentially what I'm saying. I don't know what they changed, they don't say - but this one is MUCH better than the other one that they didn't tell us what they changed in it. It MUST be, right? Otherwise, why would they have changed it? Maybe we don't need to know what they changed. Maybe they're not telling us for our own good. So we don't worry. Maybe they're fixing gaping security holes, that we would lose sleep over if we knew about. Or maybe it's just cosmetic. Nothing to worry about, so why tell is, eh. Not worry our pretty little heads. :-)

Update is worse, unable to video chat yet IMO works perfectly. Let's hope the next update let's it refresh faster and correct the Check Connection all the time! No, every update is making it slower and having more Stopped Working issues, Can we go back a few updates? It's worse now with the March 2018 update. Please get rid of the ads and other "smart" additions .
Great for video chat. Horrible, for taking over my default text without my permission. Even worse, won't uninstall. Had to factory reset as every time I would click on the app, it would read "messenger keeps shutting down x". #fixyoshit
There's a bug right now where my chat heads keep disappearing when I close the app. It's a good app to communicate with friends. I don't like that you can't sign out of your account tho. That's a basic feature that any profile should have.
I've found stickers from messenger in my gallery, like 50+ and I can't delete it, I need t clean my cache and trash and after that they disappear but after one hour they are back and it's going on and on and on. The issue started after last update I don't know how and why is app managing my private gallery since I restricted every permission.
I was deleted from fb for no reason. Then i had to re install fb after i lost all my most important data and photos. Just to install messenger to tell people to whatsapp me and then delete messenger again because it uses ALL my data and according to you messenger is FREE!!! Bull!! You will never be better than whatsapp
How is it that when connection with fb is fine, I go to use messenger and it says waiting for network? Far too many updates with no improvements! I'm not impressed with the new layout either. Who are you to determine who my favorites are! New problem (from 8/3) I have NO notifications from messenger...no sound and No chat heads. Everything is switched on been reported but nobody has responded....very poor!
this is rubbish for phones huge app sucks up data,ram, battery...dl size is 45mb but once you open it jumps to 241mb!! nice to see that 2 years on you have taken NO NOTICE OF FEEDBACK FROM USERS...WHAT IS THE POINT??
First I get banned from Facebook for no reason, now it keeps me from using messenger for no reason and has nothing to do with Facebook per se. Now I can't message people who are asking to buy from me. At least tell people I can't message right now
Last year I deleted my old conversation on my friend's messenger to cleared up cluttered up messages. Later on I found out my old messages is still on their messenger and group chats. Why the Facebook keep my old conversation on their messenger? Keep my old conversation on theirs aren't cool.... Please fix the problem.....
Messager is a good app but it takes up a lot of my phone storage space. This app has games which I don't play any of those games. It has been too slow and take some time to load previous messages
The last 2 times this has updated, it has saved all of my fb messenger stickers as files in my photo gallery. Ugh. I can't even multiselect to delete them all. Such a pain and so time and memory consuming. Please fix ASAP.
Reset my phone, app removed and reinstalled. Won't recognize my number to log back in. Junk if you ask e! Blocked from using the pin code feature cause I was going to fast. Haha
I can not get my filters sticker's to pop up. Everyone around me wit an android phone can get their messenger toady right. What is wrong with mine. I can not message anyone about this problem. Also I can not update my messenger. Fix this....
Still Broken as of 7th March 2018. Push notifications now work only sporadically, and messages only appear when the app is actually opened. Issue occurs on both this phone, Samsung tablet and Acer tablet. Please sort this out
Please understand the description of your app. It is "text and video chat", why there is many unnecessary features for communication like games, my day? This bogs down the app sometimes to unusable state for some decent spec phones.
I mean it used to be a great app. But now there are many flaws. The biggest one is the 'Active Now' section. When i click on an active person's icon, it takes me to their chat. But when i reach the chat, it says 'Active 30 mins ago'. Please fix it.
How do i get help with your app. I will be posting via media for i have asked for help and still have not recieve it. The app has major promblems and dressing it does not change the issues . i have been finding a other ways to talk to people on face book. Because of these issues.seriously.

I was hacked and sent a message to find out exactly what to do. Never received a reply. Have had to delete the app. Was nice to connect with family but will now find another way. Friends are still getting weird messages from the hackers. Not good...
Messenger is a mixed bag! It has caused many headaches and heartaches for me over the years years; as there are so many hackers that invade Messenger; and attack unknowing innocent people like myself; that caused absolute financial ruin for me! I attempted to get ahold of FB so many times; and no one would get back to me!!! I'm still trying to pay this horrible debt (which is difficult; as I live on disability; and will be paying this debt as long as I live: FB doesn't even care)! The "security hacker" had FB'S symbol & everything; how were we supposed to no crooked Mark Z. ?
A reliable app for messaging. Contains many features for improved convenience. Wish there was a way to disable the chat bubble from automatcally popping up when wifi is switched on. It distracts me when I'm doing online stuff like playing games, etc.
Why are there chat heads for active now people and for the my day? It's honestly super annoying, I can only chat with two people at the same time. Please remove this annoying feature.
Instead of the picture .... is waving at you, it appears to be a text. That's pretty annoying. Better improve that. Also people's picture in messenger appears differently from facebook. Their profile picture is stucked up. More improvement please. I am really displeased with the updates.
While buggy at best before, the app now serves ads! I'm really disappointed. It's no wonder so many people do everything they can to avoid using it even though Facebook leaves no other choice to its users.
When it comes to text messeging it isnt the best. It confuses numbers. I try and text a friend on my normal phone messaging app and it pops up on messenger as a completely different number. If I reply to the number on messenger its just a random person.
Since the update the games are practically impossible to play as a pop up box appears approximately every 30 seconds to say check internet connection, reconnecting in 5 seconds. I am connected to Wi-Fi and have mobile data which is sufficient for all other games that I play. It's not fair that the timer still goes down while this message is being displayed. Please fix it or stick to being a Messenger.
When you log in for the first time it sends all your Facebook friends a wave. That is so annoying, nothing like bothering everyone with something you didn't even do. If I want to send a wave I'll do it myself! Really unhappy that it did that!
MVA (Most valuable app)!!!! I love how I can use messenger to text again, so much more convenient! Edit: This app is beginning to regress more and more..... having the "MY DAY" and the "active now" thing as part of messenger is a waste.... that's two less chat bubbles I can have up, so for someone who messages a lot of people, the app just became a severe disappointment. There's already a section for "active now" in the same section as the search so it's completely redundant to have it listed twice. There needs to be an option to save the stuff from messenger directly to the SD card instead of the phone.
Never shows calls or texts iv tryed to reset all the settings and still wont work. Its been doing this for a while. Verry angry! :(
30 to 40 megabytes every couple of days and still not a good app! Come on Facebook you've had enough time to make a decent app, why haven't you done it? Anyone else notice Facebook doesn't reply to any comment/comments? Too busy sticking 2 fingers up to your users to be able to type a reply maybe?
